FANUC Standalone Education Robots
Configure an Industrial FANUC Robot for Education, Research and Workforce Training
Build a robotics training or research system around your program’s specific goals with FANUC Standalone Education Robots. These configurations give schools, colleges, universities, and workforce-development organizations access to industrial FANUC robots without requiring a complete enclosed or fenceless CERT cart.
Available configurations support material handling, high-speed SCARA applications, collaborative robotics, systems integration, and university research. Controllers, education software, teach pendants, tooling, safeguarding, and electrical requirements vary by robot, allowing each system to be configured around its intended application and learning environment.
Select the robot, controller, software, tooling, mounting equipment, and safeguarding that align with your curriculum, research, and laboratory requirements.

FANUC LR Mate 200iD
- Six-axis industrial robot
- 7 kg payload
- 717 mm reach
- FANUC R-30iB Mate Plus controller
- HandlingTool software with Advanced CERT configuration
- Touchscreen material-handling iPendant
- Electronic documentation
The LR Mate 200iD offers additional reach and payload for material handling, machine tending, assembly, inspection, and advanced systems-integration projects.
A startup accessory package with a 120V transformer, gripper, tooling fingers, and related components may be added according to the selected configuration.
FANUC CRX Series
FANUC CRX collaborative robots provide an approachable platform for teaching lead-through operation, tablet-based programming, end-of-arm tooling, vision, material handling, machine tending, and advanced robotics development.
| Model | Payload | Reach |
|---|---|---|
| CRX-3iA | 3 kg / 6.6 lb | 692 mm / 27.2 in |
| CRX-5iA | 5 kg / 11 lb | 994 mm / 39.1 in |
| CRX-10iA | 10 kg / 22 lb | 1,249 mm / 49.2 in |
| CRX-10iA/L | 10 kg / 22 lb | 1,418 mm / 55.8 in |
| CRX-20iA/L | 20 kg / 44 lb | 1,418 mm / 55.8 in |
| CRX-30iA | 30/25 kg / 66/55 lb | 1,756/1,889 mm / 69.1/74.4 in |
- Six-axis collaborative robot
- HandlingTool software with Advanced CRX configuration
- FANUC Tablet Teach Pendant
- 100–120V or 200–240V operation, depending on configuration
- Electronic documentation
Standalone CRX configurations do not necessarily include end-of-arm tooling. You can select collaborative grippers, vision, tooling, mounting equipment, and application accessories to meet program requirements.
The CRX-30iA provides 30 kg payload capacity with 1,756 mm reach. Its operating space expands to 1,889 mm in 25 kg payload mode.
- Industrial robot safety and operating procedures
- Teach-pendant navigation and robot jogging
- Coordinate systems, frames and position teaching
- Robot program creation and testing
- Material-handling and pick-and-place applications
- End-of-arm tooling selection and operation
- Robot communication and system integration
- Automated workcell design and troubleshooting

Standalone Robot or Complete CERT Cart?
A standalone robot may be appropriate for programs that already have safeguarding, workstations and integration capabilities or that need a custom research system. Complete CERT carts provide a more structured classroom solution with integrated mobility, tooling, safety systems and instructional resources.
Tech-Labs can help compare standalone robots, enclosed carts, fenceless systems and collaborative robot packages based on available space, electrical service, curriculum, instructor experience and desired applications.
Available robot models, controllers, software, tooling and electrical configurations are subject to change. Contact Tech-Labs to confirm the current FANUC education configuration before specifying equipment.
