Amatrol’s Air Conditioning/Heat Pump Operations Learning System (T7082) gives learners hands-on experience with an operational air-conditioning, heat-pump, and refrigeration system. Students use industry-standard components and instrumentation to develop practical skills in HVAC/R system operation, measurement, adjustment, and performance evaluation.

The mobile learning system features an exposed-component layout that allows learners to follow the refrigeration cycle and see how each device contributes to heating and cooling operation. It is designed for high school, technical college, community college, workforce development, and industrial HVAC/R training programs.

Connect HVAC/R Theory with an Operating System

The T7082 combines a compressor, condenser, evaporators, metering devices, reversing valve, refrigeration circuit, pressure and temperature controls, blower controls, and system instrumentation on a mobile workstation.

Learners move beyond diagrams and simulations by observing refrigerant flow, measuring changing system conditions, adjusting controls, and evaluating performance on operational equipment.

Teach Air-Conditioning and Heat-Pump Operation

The T7082 introduces mechanical refrigeration before progressing to complete air-conditioning and reversible heat-pump operation. Learners examine compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, reversing valves, filter-driers, pressure controls, temperature controls, and air-handling components.

Hands-on activities demonstrate how component operation, refrigerant conditions, airflow, and control settings influence system performance in heating and cooling modes.

Operate the System

Start, monitor, and adjust an operational air-conditioning and heat-pump system in heating and cooling modes.

Measure Conditions

Use HVAC/R instruments to measure system pressure, temperature, refrigerant flow, and compressor current.

Evaluate Performance

Calculate subcooling, test components, adjust controls, and compare performance under changing system conditions.

Measure and Evaluate HVAC/R Performance

Learners use pressure and temperature gauges, flow meters, sight glasses, moisture indicators, and a panel-mounted compressor ammeter to observe system conditions. These instruments help students connect pressure, temperature, refrigerant flow, and electrical load with HVAC/R system operation.
