Amatrol’s Combined Refrigeration Installation Learning System (T7200) gives learners hands-on experience installing the electrical and mechanical components used in residential and light-commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.

The mobile, double-sided workstation combines industry-standard HVAC/R components with interactive multimedia curriculum. Learners practice cutting, bending, flaring, swaging, brazing, soldering, routing, connecting, insulating, and leak-testing refrigerant tubing while developing skills directly applicable to HVAC/R installation careers.

Build job-ready HVAC/R installation skills with real components, professional tools, and guided hands-on activities.

Develop Real-World HVAC/R Installation Skills

The T7200 provides a structured environment in which learners can assemble and install a working refrigeration circuit. Its exposed component layout makes it easier to understand how individual components are connected and how refrigerant moves through the completed system.

Learners work with evaporator and condenser coils, a hermetically sealed compressor, a filter-drier, copper tubing, fittings, mounting hardware, and other components commonly encountered in residential and light-commercial HVAC/R applications.

Prepare Tubing

Measure, cut, deburr, bend, flare, and swage copper tubing for HVAC/R installations.

Install Refrigerant Lines

Route, support, connect, braze, solder, and insulate refrigerant tubing and line sets.

Test the System

Inspect completed connections and perform procedures used to identify refrigerant-system leaks.

Practice with Industry-Standard Components

Hands-on activities use the types of components, materials, and tools HVAC/R technicians encounter in the field. Learners progress from individual tubing and fitting skills to the installation and testing of a complete mechanical refrigeration circuit.

System Features

  • Mobile, double-sided HVAC/R workstation
  • Stainless-steel panels and welded steel frame
  • Evaporator and condenser coils
  • Hermetically sealed compressor
  • Filter-drier and refrigeration-circuit components
  • Horizontal and vertical component arrangements
  • Built-in workbench for tubing preparation and bending
  • Work-holding area for joining tubing and fittings
  • Industrial-quality copper tubing and mounting hardware
  • Interactive multimedia curriculum

Hands-On Skills

The T7200 supports practical skill development in areas such as:

  • Identifying copper tube types and sizes
  • Reading HVAC/R refrigerant-circuit diagrams
  • Measuring and laying out refrigerant tubing
  • Cutting, reaming, and preparing copper tubing
  • Operating a lever-type tube bender
  • Routing and supporting refrigerant lines
  • Flaring copper tubing and assembling flare fittings
  • Swaging copper tubing
  • Soldering and brazing refrigerant-line connections
  • Setting up oxyacetylene equipment
  • Installing tubing insulation
  • Leak-testing an assembled refrigeration system

Interactive HVAC/R Curriculum

Amatrol’s interactive multimedia curriculum combines technical instruction with hands-on activities. Learners encounter text, narration, illustrations, videos, 3D animations, interactive exercises, quizzes, and skill-based procedures designed to reinforce both knowledge and application.

The curriculum begins with installation safety and refrigeration-circuit fundamentals before advancing to tubing preparation, line routing, fittings, joining methods, insulation, and leak testing. This progression helps learners understand why each procedure is performed as they develop the ability to complete it correctly.

Learning Topics

  • HVAC/R Installation Safety
  • Mechanical Installation of a Refrigeration Circuit
  • HVAC/R Refrigerant-Circuit Diagrams
  • Copper Tubing for HVAC/R Systems
  • Refrigerant-Line Routing and Bending
  • Cutting and Preparing Copper Tubing
  • HVAC/R Fittings
  • Flaring and Swaging Copper Tubing
  • Brazing and Soldering Refrigerant Lines
  • Oxyacetylene Equipment Setup
  • Leak Testing a Refrigeration System

Designed for HVAC/R Labs

The T7200’s mobile, double-sided design supports individual or team-based activities while making efficient use of available laboratory space. Pre-mounted components reduce setup time, while the integrated work surface gives learners a dedicated area to prepare tubing and assemble fittings.

The open layout allows instructors to demonstrate installation procedures clearly and gives learners convenient access to the components from both sides of the system.

Student Reference Guide

A Combined Refrigeration Installation Student Reference Guide is included with the system. Developed from the curriculum's technical content, the guide gives learners a concise reference they can keep and use after completing the training.
