DAC Worldwide 275-130 Hydraulic Diaphragm Pump Dissectible

Hydraulic diaphragm pumps are reciprocating positive displacement pumps commonly used for accurately metering and transferring liquids. Their design separates the process fluid from the pump’s drive mechanism, making them suitable for applications involving corrosive, hazardous, abrasive, or high-value fluids.

During operation, the diaphragm moves through a repeating suction and discharge cycle. As the diaphragm retracts, pressure within the pumping chamber decreases and fluid enters through the inlet check valve. As the diaphragm advances, the inlet valve closes and fluid is forced through the discharge check valve.

DAC Worldwide’s Hydraulic Diaphragm Pump Dissectible (275-130) features a fully restored industrial hydraulic diaphragm pump prepared as a teaching aid for process pump operation and maintenance training. All primary operating features of the reciprocating positive displacement pump are retained for industrial training relevance.

Hands-On Process Pump Maintenance Training

This dissectible gives learners realistic experience with the construction, operation, inspection, disassembly, and reassembly of an industrial hydraulic diaphragm pump. Actual pumps from manufacturers such as Milton Roy, Neptune, and Crane are selected based on availability and industrial relevance.

The industrial pump is cleaned, restored, and mounted on a heavy-duty, formed-steel baseplate. Components are painted with a high-durability urethane coating where necessary, and replacement hardware is provided as needed.

Training Applications

Learners can use the dissectible to explore:

  1. Reciprocating positive displacement pump operating principles.
  2. Hydraulic diaphragm pump construction and component identification.
  3. Suction and discharge check valve operation.
  4. Diaphragm inspection and routine maintenance requirements.
  5. Pump disassembly, inspection, and reassembly procedures.
