Multi-Stage, Split Case Pump Dissectible (Worthington/Pacific)

Hands-On Multistage Centrifugal Pump Maintenance Training
DAC Worldwide 275-160-PAC Multi-Stage Split Case Pump Dissectible

Multistage split case pumps are centrifugal pumps that use multiple impellers arranged along a common shaft to increase fluid pressure as it moves through successive stages. Their horizontally divided casing provides maintenance access to internal components without requiring complete removal of the pump from the piping system.

These pumps are commonly used in industrial process systems, power generation, pipeline service, boiler feed applications, water treatment, and other applications requiring higher discharge pressures.

DAC Worldwide’s Multi-Stage Split Case Pump Dissectible (Worthington/Pacific) (275-160-PAC) is constructed from an actual industrial pump restored for classroom and laboratory training. Pump examples from manufacturers such as Worthington and Pacific are selected according to availability and industrial relevance.

Hands-On Multistage Pump Maintenance Training

The dissectible provides realistic training in the construction, operation, disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of an industrial multistage split case pump. It retains primary components and design features, and provides replacement hardware where needed.

The horizontally divided casing gives learners access to the pump shaft, impellers, bearings, seals, wear components, and internal flow passages. This allows instructors and learners to examine the relationships between components and explore common inspection and maintenance procedures.

The pump is cleaned, restored, and painted with a high-durability urethane coating where appropriate. We include an applicable installation and maintenance manual from the original equipment manufacturer, when available.

The 275-160-PAC package includes DAC Worldwide’s #925 Heavy-Duty Transport Cart to support movement, display, and use of the full-size industrial pump.

Training Applications

Learners can use the dissectible to explore:

  1. Multistage centrifugal pump operating principles.
  2. Split case pump construction and component relationships.
  3. Identification of impellers, shafts, bearings, seals, wear rings, casing components, and flow passages.
  4. Proper pump disassembly and inspection procedures.
  5. Measurement and evaluation of internal wear components.
  6. Correct component organization and pump reassembly.
