DAC Worldwide’s Multi-Stage, Horizontally-Split Pump Cutaway (278-160-PAC) is a remanufactured, full-size industrial pump designed for convenient classroom and laboratory training in the operation, construction, inspection, and maintenance of horizontally split, multi-stage centrifugal pumps.
A common industrial multi-stage pump, such as the Goulds 3316, is disassembled, refurbished, painted, and reassembled for training use. All major pump components are retained, giving learners a first-hand view of equipment commonly used in process, chemical, oil and gas, power generation, marine, and other industrial applications.
The fully detailed training cutaway helps learners examine the internal configuration of a multi-stage centrifugal pump and understand how its components work together. Color-coded internal surfaces, seal elements, and impellers make individual components easier to identify and support training in pump construction, operating principles, inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
The Multi-Stage, Horizontally-Split Pump Cutaway provides realistic hands-on experience with an actual industrial pump. The unit lets learners perform practical maintenance activities, including complete pump disassembly, component inspection, and reassembly.

The pump includes provisions for two-point tensioning using jacking bolts, while replacement plated hardware, seals, and bearings are provided where necessary to support repeated training activities.
The pump is disassembled, cleaned, primed, and finished with a high-durability urethane or powder coating. Inner surfaces, impellers, seal elements, and other internal areas are painted in contrasting colors to improve visibility and reinforce component identification.
The cutaway is mounted on a steel, powder-coated baseplate and includes DAC Worldwide’s Heavy Duty Cart (925), allowing the full-size training aid to be moved and positioned within the laboratory. An optional Operator’s Guide to Rotating Equipment textbook is also available to support structured instruction.
