Hands-On Drone & UAV Training for STEM and CTE

Drone and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology gives students an engaging way to explore aviation, engineering, electronics, programming, and autonomous systems. Hands-on UAV training connects STEM concepts to real-world applications while helping students develop technical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Tech-Labs offers drone and UAV training solutions for middle school, high school, CTE, and post-secondary programs. From introductory flight and engineering activities to programmable drones, flight simulation, autonomous systems, competitions, and FAA Part 107 preparation, these learning systems can support both introductory and advanced unmanned aviation programs.

Depending on the training system and curriculum, students can explore:

  • Flight & Aerodynamics – Investigate lift, thrust, drag, stability, and the principles that make controlled flight possible.
  • Electronics & Electrical Systems – Explore motors, batteries, electronic controls, sensors, and other components used in UAV systems.
  • Programming & Autonomous Flight – Apply coding, sensors, navigation, and control concepts to programmable and autonomous aircraft.
  • Engineering Design – Build, test, troubleshoot, and improve UAV systems through hands-on engineering challenges.
  • Flight Skills & Safety – Develop flight proficiency while learning safe operating practices and responsible UAV operation.
  • FAA Part 107 Knowledge – Prepare students to explore commercial drone operations and the knowledge required for the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate.

Drone technology is used across a growing range of industries and applications. UAV education can introduce students to applications in agriculture, surveying and mapping, inspection, construction, public safety, infrastructure, media, and other fields while connecting classroom learning to emerging technical careers.

Tech-Labs offers hands-on UAV solutions that can include complete curriculum labs, programmable drones, flight simulators, training rigs, competition systems, and equipment designed to support safe indoor flight and experimentation. These systems allow educators to build programs around their instructional goals, available lab space, and student experience level.

Drone and UAV training brings aviation, engineering, electronics, programming, and autonomous technology together in a hands-on learning environment.
