The ILS9.75 platform is designed for laser material processing in a wide variety of production environments. Flexible enough to be installed as a standalone system or integrated into an automated manufacturing line, the ILS9.75 is an excellent choice for no-tool prototype production and is also used in research and development facilities around the world.
The ILS series are our largest and most sophisticated laser platforms, ideal for businesses that process large objects. The ILS laser platforms feature work areas up to twice as large as the largest PLS or VLS laser platforms, and a patented, true Class IV pass-through mode is available for safe processing of objects of unlimited length. Factory ready features like the automation interface allow a properly configured ILS laser platform to serve as either a standalone production solution or be an integrated component of an automated assembly line.
The ILS12.75 is our largest and most versatile platform. Engineered specifically for manufacturing environments, it can handle applications ranging from prototyping to automated manufacturing. In addition to a spacious 48" x 24" x 12", 13,824 in3 material processing envelope, the ILS12.75 incorporates our Pass-Through feature, which allows both side doors to be opened to process materials of unlimited length. Universal’s ILS platform is also the only CO2 laser system in the world that can be converted between CDRH Class 1 and CDRH Class 4.
The ILS12.75 is dual laser compatible and has a processing power range of 10 watts, when using our smallest laser cartridge, to 150 watts when using two of our 75-watt lasers. The massive processing power of the ILS12.75 allows it to function as a standalone production solution, but it can also be integrated into an automated assembly line. In addition to the basic capabilities of the machine, there are a number of patented Uniquely Universal features that are only available from Universal Laser Systems. The Universal Pin Table is designed to eliminate certain scorch marks and other defects which may occur when cutting acrylic, wood or other sensitive materials using conventional laser cutting tables. By using specially coated aluminum pins to elevate the material being processed, the Universal Pin Table greatly reduces the amount of laser energy reflected back into the material from the table surface.
The Universal Pin Table consists of a modular 12” x 12” base, sixteen supporting pins to elevate the material, and four fixture pins for material positioning. The base contains magnets which allow for quick and accurate alignment with other Universal Pin Tables. Pins slide snugly into the pin slots in the base (arranged in a grid with 1” intervals) and can then be locked in place with screws for high-volume jobs.
